Following the highly successful 2015 inaugural Race the World race, Limelight Sports and BIKE Channel are thrilled to announce the broadcast this month of the epic 26 minute documentary celebrating the 2015 race experience on BIKE Channel from 11-28 January.
Craig Dews, CEO Limelight Sports, commented, "We're incredibly excited to be airing on BIKE Channel, and as the agency of the Active World, Limelight Sports shares the vision to promote cycling, sport and an active lifestyle in general. With the channel's focus on sport and adventure, we feel it's an ideal fit with Race the World, which puts today's amateur cycling pioneers centre stage of a once in a lifetime challenge and demonstrates our belief in the positive benefits of amazing active experiences.”
Filippo Ubaldini, CEO BIKE Channel, “The Race the World event is a challenge unlike any other, and we’re proud to be the pioneers of the broadcast element of the journey. As the home of cycling, we’re delighted that Limelight Sports have chosen us as the broadcast partner for their inaugural event, and we look forward to working with them on an ongoing basis.”
The documentary follows the pioneer racers' inaugural journey across the USA leg of the first fully supported team cycling race, both on and off the road. The programme gives a fantastic insight into the highs and lows of the incredibly tightly fought race, highlighting the stunning locations encountered by the teams on this unprecedented adventure and bringing the viewer right to the heart of the lifelong friendships formed within the two teams battling out 13 stages taking them from LA to Miami.
Race the World will take place again in November this year in USA, once more taking participants on an incredible journey from LA to Miami giving cycling enthusiasts the chance to take part in an extraordinary challenge and to take their cycling to another level. There are advanced plans to take the race to more locations soon.
