Marketing Potential of
Mass Participation Sport
We passionately believe in their power. They are designed for all: to discover, experience and share...
We do this with, and for, brands. Tailoring to their audiences, needs, plans, targets and ambitions. Small to huge, local to global, strategy to delivery.
Marketing Director (UK)
Using mass participation to get brands and communities to meet around sport was a fascinating proposition when I joined in August 2013. Since then I have learned to understand the incredible power of mass participation and fallen for the passion and creativity of the Limelight Sports team
Pinning down to one sport or one sport event is impossible! Sport has always been at the heart of my life – Noah, Pirmin Zurbriggen, Clyde Drexler, Federer, Zidane… The sports I practice the most regularly are tennis, skiing, cycling and hiking.
Technology Operations Lead
I joined Limelight Sports in December 2013 in a newly created role within the expanding Technology department. Having worked in the B2B events industry for a number of years my background is primarily in event marketing and more recently event registration and technical project management.
Member of the gym, I enjoy short-distance running and swimming and I was a keen netball player through my school and university days.
Project Coordinator (UK)
I started at Limelight Sports in January 2015 having come from Nike where I was a part of the EKIN team. That role was heavily product focused but with a lot of involvement with brand events giving me an insight into how events work and this where my passion for sports events was born.
I’ve always been active and as a youngster I did track and played football and basketball. Now I’m all about running. I’ll be running my first marathon in Berlin on 27/9/15 and Nike Training Club which I absolutely love!
Project Co-ordinator (UK)
I joined the team on a temporary basis in 2014, and was delighted to be offered a chance to return soon after. Since then I have been fortunate enough to work on a number of premium mass participation sporting events, including the Royal Parks Half Marathon, London Duathlon and NikeCourt Club.
The sports I enjoy taking part in the most are tennis, football and golf.
Joined Limelight in 1998 as Project Manager for Swimathon. Appointed CEO in November 2001 and have looked to develop the team, our client relationships and our company credentials since then. Very privileged to lead such a talented and enthusiastic team of people.
Football and Rugby League. Now running and cycling. Duathlon debut September 2014!
Commercial Director (UK properties)
My Limelight Sports career kicked off with Nike's PannaKO '04 & now involves the growth, development & direction of Limelight's own properties.
Football now replaced by multi-sport (London Duathlon 2005 was my first) & iron-distance soon? Marathon highlight was NYC '08 & now just 90 secs off Good for Age
Head of Technology
I have been with Limelight Sports for over 10 years and experienced first hand countless campaigns in this time. This experience of the live event and event campaigns coupled with my technical knowledge allows me and my team to specialise in “applied technology”; technology that is designed for participation sport enhancing the experience of the participant and their spectators.
Keen cyclist and triathlete. Soft spot for Birmingham city.
Managing Director (Australia)
I was lucky to be part of the UK company team for 5 years during a massive growth phase, and then set up the Australia/NZ company in 2009. Have been the MD since then!
Run, bike (road/MTB/fixie), swim (badly). Golf (even worse…), and anything else where you can hit/pass/shoot!!
I.T Coordinator (UK)
I’ve been employed by Limelight since 2010 as an I.T. assistant. Now as I.T. Coordinator, I solely maintain the electrical and computerized equipment within the office.
After a number of injuries I am currently reviving my fitness motivation using the Insanity workout that mainly involves plyometric interval training and cardio strengthening exercises. I also enjoy basketball and was a striker within the company football team.
Assistant Production & Logistics Manager (UK)
I joined in May 2012 on the TfL Olympics team within production for all the road race events. I have since been involved in a number of projects including RPFHM, Palace to Palace, Energizer Night Run, J.P.Morgan CC, London Duathlon, Swim Britain, Sport Relief and LYG.
I enjoy keeping fit especially being outdoors. Walking in the hills and mountains, cycling or more recently scooting around the streets of London for my commute.
Digital Marketing Manager (UK)
After 5 years working for an F1 team, I started with Limelight Sports in 2013, and have been in love with the job since then. The shared love of sport and most importantly, the shared belief that an active world is a better world really are important things for me.
Riding my bike around London, to get from/to work or at the weekend for relaxing rides. It can be hectic with regards to traffic, but it provides me with such a great feeling of freedom. Something that the tube can’t beat!
Corporate Services Manager (UK)
My career started at Limelight in 2009 as Office Manager, my role developed and I became Corporate Services Manager in 2011.
I’m a gym enthusiast, I enjoy spinning and sculpt classes.
Events Director (UK)
I joined Limelight in 1999, initially working on mass participation multisport events for young people; I’m now the Events Director with responsibility for a team of 20+ people creating and delivering premium participation sporting experiences
I’m a keen runner and cyclist who loves parkrun and who regularly enters into participation events. I volunteer with Ealing, Southall and Middlesex AC young athletes and passionately believe in the benefits of an active world
Head of Corporate Services (UK)
I first started working for Limelight in 1998 as PR Manager, progressing into Account Management. Having briefly left I realised the grass is actually not greener on the other side and returned to the company in 2007 to take on the role of Head of Project Management. In 2011 I became Head of Corporate Services and have since completed a Post Graduate Diploma in HR and am now an Assoc member of the CIPD. My challenge for 2015/2016 is to complete my final year at the University of Wales (part time) to get my Masters in HR.
I enjoy running and have completed a number of 10ks. If I get the chance I also like to ski, having only learnt 10 years ago I’m making up for lost time!
Regional Director (Dubai)
Since joining LS in 2005 I have worked with most of our clients and projects; ranging from Nike, Sky, Sport Relief, British Gas to TfL and LOCOG. I now work out in Dubai developing our offering in the region. I believe in and am passionate about having the participant at the heart of our work and enabling anyone to achieve in sport.
You will never find me far from a pair of trainers, love a trainer! I have completed 5 marathons, now I am in Dubai I no longer cycle to work but most mornings you will find me at a circuit class, in the gym, cycling at Al Qudra or taking part in one of Dubai’s many sports events!
Senior Project Manager (UK)
I joined in 2011 to take over project management of the Swimathon. Since then I have been heavily involved in some of our newest properties including Night Run, London Duathlon and School Swimathon. Within the Invested Properties department, I now specialize in creating and developing our owned events.
I am a pure, unashamed sports geek. If ever I’m not watching sport on TV then I’m attempting (and generally failing) to emulate the pros in real life. In recent times this has turned into a passion for cycling and running, and an attempt to get back into the pool mean that a triathlon is next on my list
